KRYSTAL WILT

Krystal grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of New York state, and began riding horses at a very early age.  Krystal began riding and competing in hunt seat, then dabbled in lower level eventing, and by the age of 12, had found her life passion of dressage.

Krystal was a working student for Susan Nicholson during college, and then went to Massachusetts for a working student experience with Gerd and Yvonne Zuther before starting graduate school.  Krystal has gained valuable insight by working with trainers and clinicians such as Bill McMullin, Roberta Carleton, Laura Gillmer, Melissa Suits, Kathy Rowse, Dee Loveless, David Marcus, Jim Koford, Ann Guptill, Lynn Palm, and Gary Rockwell.  Krystal trains regularly with Sarah Geikie (CT), while also attending as many clinics and educational events as possible to further her education.

Krystal has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver medals and has successfully competed through Intermediare 2.  She and Soraya plan to debuted at Grand Prix in the fall of 2022.  Krystal has won numerous local year end awards, as well as USDF All-Breed Awards.  Krystal served for ten years on the board of her local GMO, the Eastern New York Dressage and Combined Training Association, of which she was awarded member of the year in 2013 and 2021.  Krystal feels very strongly about the importance of volunteering and helping to educate the local dressage community, and continues to devote time to organizing educational events.

Krystal greatly enjoys officiating as a USEF r Dressage Judge at both recognized and schooling shows.  She also loves to officiate ride-critique-ride sessions, in which she is able to help guide riders along the correct path of dressage basics.  Krystal strives to provide educational and encouraging comments to competitors, to help them on their dressage journey.

Krystal takes a calm, patient, and trusting approach with her dressage students and their equine companions.  She believes strongly in a solid foundation, and thoroughly enjoys starting young horses under saddle with the correct basics.  Krystal works to establish trust and communication between riders and horses, to reach a greater level of trust and harmony, both in and out of the competition ring.  Whether your goals are to compete or just to better communicate with your horse, Krystal can work with you to achieve those goals in a fun and exciting way.
